Many people are lead to believe that when you call a pest control, or wildlife removal company, that the company traps the animal in question, and releases it somewhere else.
In most cases, this isn’t true.
Pest removal companies more often than not, will take the defenseless critter and kill it, often using torturous methods to do so.
Like drowning.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Often, pest companies will drown the poor animal while still in the trap, and then discard of it.
Some will shoot the animal while still in the trap.

You can also try to rid them yourself by encouraging them to vacate the area you don’t want them in by using the three S method.
Sight: Bright lights, strobe lights
Sound: Loud noises near the area you no longer want them in
Smell: Predator urine that can be purchased online or any farm store such as Tractor Supply or Atwoods.
Example:
Let’s say you have a family of raccoons in your attic that you’d like gone.
Place a strobe light in the area where they have made a den.
Place a radio or small television and choose something where people are talking, or loud noises are being made.
(Music is much less effective)
Spray coyote or fox urine around the area they are staying.
One of these methods will encourage the raccoons to vacate the premises and move on.
Once they do, find out how they were able to get in, and repair it.
